92' Explorer
Hey guys and gals, new to the forums. I've got a 92' explorer and one of the radius arm bushings has gone bad. It's on the driver's side where the arm meets the crossmember (it's the bushing in FRONT of the crossmember, not the one behind it). Ford wants almost $300 to replace it.... is this something i can do myself? It looks easy at 1st glance (just unbolt the radius arm from the crossmember and replace) but i'm wondering if there's any hidden pitfalls... like would i have to drop the whole axle to get it out, etc.
Also, would i have to do an alignment after this procedure?
Thanks in advance guys. Already learning alot here.
Looking forward to hearing any responses.

Dead Link Removed Click the link and then go down to suspension and tires and you should see some articles on the radius arm bushings. You should find all you are looking for to do this task. I have replaced R/A bushigs a few times. It's not hard with the right tools, just time consuming.

Thanks so much for the replies guys. Still learning my way around; i appreciate the direction. :)
Thanks again,
matt

No problem, you'll find out that most people are willing to help out as much as they can. Always do a search first though. If you have a question about fixing something, it probally already has been answered somewhere else. Another thing, welcome to the site.
