hey all, I am thinking about replacing my rear leaf springs and was wondering just how intense of a job this is going to be. I have never replaced springs before so any hints on the best replacement springs to the best way to do it would be great. This forum is fantastic for us backyard mechanics and thanks to everybody out there.....

pretty simple job. the best is to do them one side at a time and presoak the bolts in pb blaster. i also recondmend cutting the u-bolts if you got new ones "saves a lot of time". and if your shackles are questionable replace them while ur at it.
good luck

really easy job. tools? 2-4 jackstands, impact gun helps, but a breaker bar works. probably about a 2 hour job if you really take your time. no need to cut the ubolts if theyre not rusted on. like thebaer said, soak EVERY bolt in pb blaster. having 2 people will help too. good luck!

Not a bad job. the hardest part is fighting the rust( pb blaster like mentioned above) and centering the centering pin to the u bolt/shock mount. Don't know of any replacement springs, i only did a add a leaf.
