I drive a '99 Explorer EB

Is it possible to disconnect the stock sub, and put a 10'' in a box in the back, and hook it up to the head unit w/o a new amp?

I don't really have the money to upgrade the whole system, I'd just like some stronger bass

Thanks

Stronger (louder) bass would only be attained by using a sub that has a lower resistance, without spending a bit of cash. Your stock amp/head unit, however, is not designed to work with a lower resistance subwoofer. If you want more, you'll have to pay for it unfortunately.
