replacing the rear wiper switch 2002 sport

My daughter's explorer has a bum switch and the switch is in a location that I'm not sure what has to come apart and how....it is along side of the airbag....at this time I'm thinking that taking out the glove compartment might allow access to the switch....too far up from under the dash board...

anyone ever replace this switch? ( and remembers how they did it )

Thank you for any help that would allow an old parts changer to do this job...

Perfect.... quick to boot.... I knew that there is always an easier way then the path I choose....( had already ordered the haynes manual and hope they gave the info in that book - for her ride...).. but usually I do way more work than I need too.. this looks so simple...

with 8 vehicles in my "fleet"... keeping them going is a full time job...

I thank you... ( belatedly ) .... was a half hour job... much easier than I had thought of how to go about it...daughter is happy....I'm happy....especially since she had me do about 4 different things to her explorer...going to have to remember this site...
