2002 ford explorer xlt v8
Ok long story short
Spark plug blew out
I bought new one
Started putting back but decided to check that the rest where not lose cause of the aluminum head causes them to losen.
Started with the one beside it when my 6/32 socket fell.....in cylinder #8 (where old one blew).
So I tried pulling it out with magnet and when I t went all the way thru.
After various attemps I decide quickly turn on and then of the suv....bad idea...
I don't need to hear from here I know it was stupid thing to do ...I've heard enough from my wife:banghead:

Now the car won't turn on at all....
I twist the key to try to turn in on but it won't start ...kinda like a fan when motor humsss cause you are holding the blade.....

Anywho ,I know that I definitely have a bent valve.....I hope nothing worst.

I searched and searched and can't find no type of walk through to how replace a bent valve on a 2002 ford explorer xlt v8 .....it's like no one has ever had this problem ....all I find is something about a egr valve....

Please someone point me in the right direction.....I'm not a mechanic but this isn't my first rodeo .... I have tackled bent valves before on one of my previous car before and I know what I'm getting into....

So please

Pointing to a tut on how to disassemble diagram for access to valves for a 2002 ford explorer xlt v8

Also ....will I have to mess with timing?.....or it depends on the severity of the problem once I take it apart?

I want this to be also a walk through for other with similar problems so I will also post pictures of my progress to others with similar problem that why they won't have a hard time finding help like I been having.

BAAAAAD NEWS... the head has to come off... means timing chains have to come off..

Ok I manage to manually lower the #8 cylinder piston and
It didn't feel hard or anything it went down smooth.
But the piece of nut is still there smashed and it won't fit thru spark plug hole
Any ideas anyone??
