Hey everybody,
I was read something about resetting the computer and am not sure if I completely understand...
- Does resetting the computer once in a while improve performance in general or should it only be done after a modification?
- Also, I am about to install a K&N FIPK on my 97 Eddie Bauer....has anybody else done it? any ideas or thoughts? Can I do it myself? Resetting the computer after installing it is probably a good idea.. :-)

Let me know what you all think...

Thanx

Resetting the computer after a modification (such as tha K&N) can help, but isn't always necessary. Once the computer has been reset is goes through what is called a relearn procedure. What this means is after you restart the vehicle the computer records input from its sensors and "relearns" its idle profile, when to switch to closed loop, etc.. Resetting the computer after a modification will allow the vehicle to adjust to the new part instantly.
