Retractable key+FOB, anyone tried it yet??

will this key work with my 02 mountaineer? i only have one key and button. what would i have to do to get it to work if i bought one?

You'd need to have the dealer program it for you. You need 2 working transponder keys to program another by yourself.

My Walmart not only cuts my transponder keys, but they also do it for free. Done it 3-4 times across two Explorers. :D

What a bunch of wussy *******s here . Walmart, Ace, and True Value wouldn't touch my ebay key.

I've spoken with a different person each time and only once was I told they're doing it at "my risk" (re: transponder key).

I have the '07 Ford Fusion key for my '02 Mountaineer and Home Depot cut it for free and I programed it myself in the parking lot in less than 3 minutes. But it did have two factory keys though. I wish I saw this key first though but I still might have to get it, it looks way to cool. Nice find...

Heh, the lady at my local Ace went on a crazy tyrant about how the key I brought in was a chip key, and it was worth over $65 and she didn't want to be responsible for missing it up.
Like it was some magical key or something...

LOL! I asked the guy if he was sure he could cut it since it wasn't cheap. He said it was "no sweat". He used the "wide" or "Large" setting - can't remember which one he said.
