2017 Explorer Sport
Hello all,

After a 7 year hiatus, I am back in the Ford Explorer fold. I purchased a 2017 Sport in December and I like the performance, but unfortunately it broke down already. The other day, the car started to make loud noises. I turned it off and the noises would continue, then smoke came out from the engine bay. The car has only 2,300 miles. Needless to say, I was pissed as hell. Towed the car to a dealership close to my house, managed to get a loaner and two days later they found out that the starter needed to be replaced. They also changed the battery, since it died.
So, hopefully this is the last issue with the truck. I came back to Ford from an Infiniti G35, so I really do not want this to be my last Ford.

Thank you.

Welcome back to the Explorer family:chug: I hope your issues are over with.

Thank you for welcoming me back. Looking forward to a care free ownership. I try to browse this forum and others and did not really see any other major issues, but did any of you encounter any other issues. The dealership told me that Ford gave them a different part number for the starter, so the dealer assumed that maybe a recall will be issued.
I planning on some small mods, like black hood and top of the doors for now.
