Transmission neutral switch/range sensor.

Do you by chance know where on the transmission the switch is at?

Auto or stick?

Under the car, on the side of the transmission, across from gas filter. Is the black thing in the picture below with a wide connector (11 pin probably). Below is the 5R55E transmission (Ford switched to that some time during 2001).

Is there anyway to check and see if the switch to see if its working right ?

try unplugging and replugging the connector first ,could just be a bad connection .if that dont work i,d say its time to replace the switch .
or have someone go behind the vehicle and watch the lights as you go thru the gears to see if they come on at all.could be a mispositioned shift lever too. but i doubt it .

Another question just changed all my spark plugs but i get a clicking sound ??? Any ideas
