Reverse lights

I have a 99 ranger and the reverse lights do not work. I understand it may be something with the connection at the tranny. Any suggestions or how did you fix this problem.

Related maybe, but my over drive off button does not work as well. I checked fuses on the driver side, but will look for fuses on passenger side tomorrow.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
