91 A4ld ok here is my problem I had the transmission rebuilt I got it back in and now I have a delayed reverse if the explorer has been sitting for awhile the reverse comes in slow 20 to 30 seconds after it warms up there is no reverse from the research I have done looks like it might be the low reverse servo seal any help would be appreciated

because I Installed it myself no warranty from the shop

I have checked the fluids

the transmission shop did the rebulid I R&R the tranny
tomorrow I will check the valvebody bolts first Mitchell shows 71-98 inch

I have tried everything I checked the fluid warm & hot

There are 2 valve body rebuild kits that they make for the A4LD. I'm wondering if that shop might have lost something while reassembling the valve body. Did you read Glacier991's A4LD VB diary, and the A4LD rebuild diary? There is another thread called Project Frankentranny that explains how to upgrade the A4LD with 5R55E parts.

I wouldnt be surprised if they did loose something ! when I went to pick up my transmission the guy said they put my torque converter on the core truck
so he had to get me a new one

I'll read up on the valve body rebulid

thanks for the help

the first time it got rebulit I got a new converter for it
but the tranny went a little over 20,000 miles because alot of hauling with no cooler lol

oh yeah I installed a big cooler remote filter all new lines and a temp gauge

after I get the VB fixed I might go to Mobil 1 Synthetic transmission fluid
what's your thoughts on it ?

Mobile 1 synthetic is pretty good. Other people on this site have used Amsoil, and seem to like that too. I haven't used it, so I can't compare. I've used Mobile 1 synthetic. It is a little expensive, but all synthetics are.
