About $150 Canadian but stripping it all this summer and painting Od green , it stains bad with the dirt and peels would be ok for a street truck

$150.00 CAD is cheap... haha thats not bad at all... what plasti dip did you use?

Looks good. What kind of prep work is involved in the dipping process? What kind of dip did you use?

Actual Plasti dip cans from Lowes. I just gave her a good wash and went at it , then peeled off from windows and lights, I tried to mask off but couldn't get a clean edge so just sprayed over edges then peeled back to that edge

Nice. So rattle can a clean truck, and peel it off the windows and such... nice!! I was thinking about repainting.. but its bloody expensive and requires a lot of sanding.... I think I will bedliner the bottom and plastidip the top :)

How difficult was it to get a even coat on that? Im not great at spray painting things, but Im willing to give it a shot... bc unlike paint you can peel it off really easy :)

I apologize for thread Highjacking guys... If I need help I will pm from now on ok?

It's easy to spray as long as u have a good nozzle I had two bad cans I just switched nozzles, just do a light coat all over then a good heavier second coat

It will look textured until it dries then smooths out

How many coats. cans did it take?

8 cans I believe from the Bedliner up

I hate having a black truck. Every little thing shows. I can buff it till the cows come home but the next tight trail will pinstripe it again and again.

I know the feeling too. Pacific Green ain't no treat either. Took me all afternoon Sunday to get rid of Saturdays oops and aw$hits.

Still looks OK the farther away you get. Soon as the Sport gets new tires I'll use that in the woods.

LOL. My truck looks basically the same stock. cept the pinstripe is fading.. I have rust around the fenders (surface only) other than that it looks identical.

Can anyone tell me how well it stands up to washing etc? does it peel badly with a pressure washer? how durable is it etc?

It will peel it will come off if u get energetic with a pressure washer and you'll be forever touching it up , specially if u take the truck off road. I'll honestly never plastidip again

Its definitely not an offroad truck.. although I have the plans in the future.. at that point though I'll have the Plasti-dip off :)

Make sure you put it on thick enough then , if you don't it won't peel like a skin instead it will be an agonizing endeavour

How thick on a caliper? 1/100th of an inch? 1/1000th?

A light coat and at least one heavier coat thickness of a surgical glove

I was doing some research at dipyourcar.com and they suggest at least 4 coats. The thing I don't know is if that is with using cans or spray gun. I know the more layers the better for pealing it off. They also mentioned it takes a couple of weeks baking in the sun to cure it and make it stronger.

I like plasti dip because it allows me to change the look of my car relatively cheap. I had some rusty rocker panels and real dirty looking rims. I decided to try plasti dip and I really like it. I'm not out in the woods with my vehicle much so my wear and tear is basically road use.

I'll upload some pics soon.

I used POR 15 under my doors and inside my doors. I will use a 3m bed liner spray over those areas as well.
