What do you guys think about stripes?

I am now seriously thinking of putting racing strips on my exploder. My truck is torch red so I was thinking of metallic silver. They would be the classic muscle car stripes, 10" or 12" wide, 6" apart. What do you guys think? Also does anyone have a paint program on their computer where they could paint stripes on a picture so I could see what it looks like? Thanks

I think it would look cool, but I wouldnt do it till the end of your modifications. I think racing stripes, or any other stand out coloring, calipers, door handles, and such only look good on a finished product. I think that cars, and trucks, with these stupid stripes, and lettering on a bone stock vehicle is just ridiculous. I dont think its fair to put all this nice racing stuff on your truck till it can back it up a bit Thats the way I feel about my truck at least. I plan on doing something like that to my truck, which is the same color, once I get some more power into it. But if you are asking if it would look good, I definletly think it would.

I would tend to go with this notion, but it's all up to the owner. Personally, I'd forgo the decorations and get the power mods done first. Nothing worse than someone who thinks he's just gotten bested by a stocker. Good luck!

I saw a red Durango with silver metallic stripes, it looked really nice. By looking at your list of mods I think you've got the bone stock thing beat. I think you should go for it if you want. As for the distance between them, I have no idea but, I think a fatter stripe looks better than a skinny one. Also I think stripes that are more toward the center not all the way on each side look better.

I think stripes are really nice and would go great. I was thinking about this for a long while and I am still thinking about it but I want to get more done to it first. I have a black 2dr that I think blue stripes would look great on mine. I say go for it... It will make you explorer stand out no matter what.

I've got a bunch of stripes on mine and they were all free... got some desert pinstriping in Moab, some mountain pinstriping all over Colorado... I don't think they look all that good though

thanks guys, and jornum1 I agree with you. I really hate all of the cars with obnoxious coloring and no mods. I don't have many more plans for my truck except for lowering and a supercharger. I'm still undecided on the size and spacing of the stripes. The stripes are either going to be 10 or 12 inches wide and 4 or 6 inches apart. thanks for all the input.

Check this out! This is one of my explorers with stripes on it! i get alot of compliments on it cause its diff. I am also planning on putting them on my new sport trac.
