First, I have to stop letting Rick buy 4x4 mags. They are veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery
dangerous! So here it is.

He's decided to relandscape the backyard. Big deal, right! Well, yes! He's going to bring in 300 tons of boulders. Why? Why to build a 4x4 track in the backyard, of course. He figures he'll recreate some of the best obstacles from the trails. For example, double whammy, dump bump, golden crack and others.
He's was sitting in the swimming pool tonight figuring it out. He said, "We'll start over there and go around the pool here and then end over there. I want it to take TWO hours to drive around the backyard." I said, "You're nuts!"

PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESE, someone stop him!!!!!!!!!!

HEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He's gone nuts! Is there a cure for this disease?

Ooooooooooooo, your neighbors are going to freak!! That is, unless they off-road... :D

Yeah that sounds great. Then he could do a little number over the house on the roof. Well we all saw what happened to that one guy in the chevy with the stolen tires. But i'm sure you could figure something out :)

I don't know Char, if I had the money and the acreage I'd say it was a damn good idea myself. Though it'll be impossible to truly recreate some of those obstacles but I'm all for helping out of it means I get to drive around in y our back yard :).

Is he going to set up a trail for us moderately altered Explorers or are we just going to have to sit in the pool and watch Rick wheel? :)

You will probably want to set up some kind of anchor on the back of the house so that he can winch his truck out of the pool. Maybe a D-ring attached to the siding will work. Be sure to find a stud to attach it to. :D

I can see the headline now, "Freak Accident Tears House Down, foul play suspected".

Geez can't a guy even dream anymore??? The guy who did this lives in Scottsdale, AZ and he has 2 1/2 acres. We only have about a 1/3 of an acre so I guess we would have to settle for 100 tons of rock!

Couldn't you just imagine the stares from the neighbors as the truck seems to ride at the same level as the top of the fence? Couldn't you imagine the look on their faces as the truck careened through the fence into their yard?

We actually do have enough room for a path around the yard, but I'm not that crazy...yet. If Algore gets elected and closes public land to four wheeling it may be a different story.

If Algore gets elected, I'm moving to Arizona and joining a Militia. :) Seriously, I cannot think of a worse candidate for President. What's happened to the Democratic Party???????????

Sorry, struck a nerve. :) I could really get going on that subject.

But back to the matter at hand, I have a really small lot, but the front yard is a hill, and there's another 15 foot hill in the back. I wonder if the neighbors behind me would mind if I turned around in their back yard. This could be fun.

I'm There!!!!

Rick I read about that dude that did that. Was in Mr. Ed? I can't remember for sure. But as soon as you start this I will come down there! Hell you got the truck to haul some of the rocks in now why not? :D If you did this that would be jus the best kind of party out there! 4 wheelin in the backyard!

No that wasn't Mr. Ed, but he did look familiar. I think I've seen him on the trail before.

That would make one heck of a party. July 4th Serious Exploration... in Rick's backyard! Geez, it's getting hot out here I think I'll jump out of the truck and into the pool!

Rick, I didn't think of that before but its a GREAT idea. "Hold up the line here for a second guys I need to take a quick dip, I'll be back in 15 minutes"... do another obstacle, hop in the pool again... you could go four-wheeling in your swimsuit. Oh heck yeah, I could see you paying for admission to that place! Need to buy up your neighbors houses first... maybe use those as additional obstacles, heh heh. And maybe better yet, maybe make some indoor? :)

Why sir.....if you let me play in your "sandbox" not only will I rent the dumptruck, I'll go out into the desert in vegas and pick up the rocks myself.

Heck I'll even pick up trash from your neighbors too

how about it?????????

btw.....char, I think my quote below might just fit rick's mindset at any given moment
;)

Im not sure whos it is....but somebody on here has the quote...

"There's a fine line between hobby and mental illness!!"

:D Im all about that!!!

we could have races !!!

and we could put some bass in the pool, make a marathon out of it, twice around the course, then you have to catch the largest bass out of the pool,I could see the look on your neighbors face while we race and fish !!!!!!,
count me in.
Rick,
my brother Rich lives in phoenix,(runs Axis/Radius),I'll be out there again during Christmas, would like to see your rig when I'm out there,

That's one heck of an idea. Just make sure there aren't any leach fields in the yard, you probably don't have that problem though.
I tried to do a bit of construction of an R\C track andgot the Bobcat stuck in 3 feet of crap, not my proudest moment.

Well boys,

I like to thank you for your support and help. :D NOT!!!!!!!!!

Char,
Rick's idea isn't that bad... Acutally Yolanda has given me the ok to build a small 4x4 play area in the back yard (er.. side yard) of the new place.. I'm not talking double whammy, but Golden crack is one I'm going to try to reproduce and a few other ones that don't require very high obstacles(sp?)...

If we are lucky we will be moving into the new house (or at least closing) very early next week..

Here's a picture of the new place/land.. It is 5 acres and I get an area about 75' by 200' or so to play with.. right now it is just flat dirt/clay with 1 pile of dirt to keep those car things front coming in the back way to the house.

You know...the pool to dip in is a nice idea but don't you think it would be better off as one hell of a mud bog? Hehe
