Okay. Trying to figure some differences out from 95 to 98 so I can figure out what I have to do to fit the 4" Superlift on the 95...

So included here are pics of a custom lift that Fenix has on his 95 or 96. I think it is a 95. And a pic of StadX2's front end with the Superlift. Notice the difference...What is that.
Does the Superlift come with an extended one of those?

Any experiences in the differences is appreciated. ...

The first picture looks like a trailmaster lift, while the second is a superlift lift.

The differences you can see are that the trailmaster uses a ball joint spacer w/ stock spindle, while the superlift comes with new spindles. Also the trailmaster drops the steering linkage 4" where superlift leaves it, and adjust for it at the spindle.

Actually Trailmaster attaches a steering slide under the rack and pinion that goes through the front cross member. The steering slide is attached to the steering knuckle. I have this set up and DON'T LIKE IT. The superlift extended steering knuckles are superior to the ball joint extender/ steering slide methode.

Well, according to the post Fenix says he has a custom lift on his 95 (painted to suit) RED.

Considerably cheaper...possibly fabed in Argentina by a friend of his. I don't know as I have not communicated with him.

Second Lift is a Superlift. Considerably more expensive.

As well I am wondering about the drop down brackets for the torsion bars. The "Custom" jobbie looks like he just extended the bracket.

So what is better. Having the steering dropped or not. I would think that the new spindle is more stout. Though the angle of the steering seems greater.

Your feelings??

Here is the custom drop bracket...I don't think that I have one of the Suptelift.

So what I am doing is trying to figure out what I will have to do to get one of these to fit. I would prefer Superlift (start saving) $$.

I believe I would need Torsion bar insulators from a 98, or are those provided with the Superlift Kit?

This is my daily driver so it can't be half done waiting on parts.

T-bar isolation

Hi,
I just got done with having the 4" Superlift installed on my 96 XLT AWD. The t-bar isolators are NOT included in the Superlift kit, as I and 4WheelParts found out the hard way. If you are going to install the kit on a 96 or 97, you will need to order the parts from Ford (they went to the bolt on t-bar mounts, insulators on the 98).

Jeff

Can someone actually show me what the insulators are so i can figure out what you all are talking about!!! Thanks.

Happy trails!!

JOt, they are hard poly blocks that the t-bar bracket rests against instead of directly on the frame.

Gottcha, thanks Matt!!

Happy trails!!

Yup, that is Fenix's Exploder. From what I can gather Fenix and pals fab this up in Argentina, then customize it for you depandant on color.

To the best of my knowledge (limited I might add) it is a version of the TM style lift.

So where's the customizing? The color?

Color from what I gather. I don't know if they will do more, or if so what they could/would do to make your lift 'custom'. So yes, I believe it is only the color of the paint on the actual lift parts.

I have been searching for a 4" suspension lift for my 95 explorer 4x4
for about 2 years now and every one tells me I am nuts. From what i understand no one makes one. I thought about buying a procomp f150 or trailmaster rager kit. Not knowing which model has a simular suspension. Am I understanding you correctly is this kit your friend has for a 95 explore? Please help with any info I am desperate!!!! Email me @ iam1ofu@sbcglobal.net

Dude.. you can get the Superlift kit that is made for your truck. You've been searching for two years and you just now found this site!? :D Where've you been lookin!?

Go to 4wheelparts.com and check the Superlift stuff in 'suspension'. You'll see the new Ford Explorer 4" kit for a low price of $1400.

Also do a search for the user "Klowns". He just put the 4" Superlift on his Explorer. I think his is a '95, but it might be a '96. He has pictures on the "Before & After" forum.
