Riding Rough

I drive in the city alot and the roads have lots of potholes and patchwork. Today I got in my '03 Explorer 4X4 and noticed that it seemed to be riding fairly rough. Every little bump made a really loud noise. I got out and noticed that the entire truck was about 6 inches lower than usual. There is no warning on the dash. I find it hard to believe that all 4 shocks went out at the same time. Is this a computer issue? Please help.....

The entire truck was 6 inches lower? I would imagine by that point the body would be kissin the tires pretty hard... I'm not very familiar with options for a third gen but do you have some sort of air-ride in the rear?

There's no mods on my truck. All 4 tires are further up in the wheel well but not touching the body. It rides extremely rough like there are no shocks. What the f?
