Rim question

My truck calls for a rim thats 15 by 7. Am I to assue the 7 means 7 inches wide? Sorry if it's a stupid question.

There is an additional factor with wheels: setback is the describes the location of the center web within the wheel, which determines how far "in or out" the tire is located when the rim is mounted on the vehicle.

Setback is important to consider, as overloading of wheel bearings is possible due to using rims haviong incorrect setback, not to mention the possibility if introducing tire to body or frame interference. imp
