will 5 lug mustang rims fit on an explorer with no problems?

Yup, if its 5 on 4.5

and if the bs isn't too much.

That brings me to the question of what too much backspacing is? What is a good size? Thanks

stock is 4.5. A good all around bs for the Explorer is 3.75". It also depends how wide the rim is and what tire you're mounting. I'd tentatively say anything over 4-4.25" is too much.

Thanks for the info but are there any "streeters" out there running 17's of a mustang? I am considering getting a set of Bullit style wheels for my X off of GEFRacing and want to know if stock mustang wheels will fit an X.
