Ring And Pinion Question...

I recieved my Limited Slip today and its for 31-spline axles, like I have in the 00 Explorer. Now, I just want to make sure - that is what Explorers came with, 31-spline axles? Also, when I was ordering the new gears (Richmond Gear 4.56:1) from Jegs, it said "Pinion Splines: 30"! Whats up with the 30? Of coarse it is right between the only two axles I could have (29 or 31)...so that threw me off. Anyone want to assure me that I ordered the right stuff. On Jegs it says its the right gear set for Explorer like 91-02 or something like that (but it included my year). These are the part numbers from Jegs:

836-69-0312-1 (R&P)
836-83-1043-1 (Install Kit)


Any assurance would be great! Thanks.

Sorry to mention - this is for a 8.8" rear end!

there has nothing to do with the axle splines and the gears..... the ring gear is atttached to the carrier that is attached to the axle splines

Ha - I didn't even think about that. So I was correct though: 31-spline axles came in my 00?
