Roading in Bellingham, WA

So I am going to school up here at Western, my general place of roading used to be Reiter's but that's a little farther now. So I am wondering if anyone knows of a good place or two within an hour drive (preferably less) of Bellingham, specifically Western Washington University, to curve my craving for some off-roading. Of course I'm not running a lift (yet) so the trails can only be mediocre. Mud is fine, minor rock crawling is fine, I have no dedicated style of roading yet.

There is the ORV are Walker Valley in the Mount Vernon / Big Lake area. I live less than 10 miles from it but have only been there like 4 or 5 times. I am always so busy at home I can't relax and wheel unless I leave the house and go far enought that the hone do list can't reach me
