I have heard some roaring the other day from my front end (02 Mountaineer), decided to replace the wheel bearings

The roaring continues...

It only starts when the engine heats up. Doesnt take long, its 80-90 out the last few weeks. I have read somewhere that it could be a trans. temp sensor problem. Can't seem to find that thread again. I am running the ac, if this makes any difference.

Does the roaring coincide with the RPM of the engine?

I know mine does the same, especially in the hot weather. It's has to do with the fan clutch kicking in to add cooling. You just don't hear it most of the time when you're driving; usually just when your pulling away from a stop.
