'99 Limited
Hello all. I've been doing a little reading lately on here so thought I would register since I'm sure I'll want to post at a later date. So anyway...here's my '99 Limited X...all I've done so far is removed the luggage racks :p, put a system in (thinking about competing this year, yes it's loud enough) and put some tints on the front.

Once I, hopefully, get this job and it gets warmer I want to lower it 2 or 3 inches and put some rims on it. I would also really like to do the HID conversion that I saw on one of the member's threads, sorry I can't cite your name. Also would like to replace the steering wheel/instrument leds to a nice blue...However, I'm not nearly talented enough to do all this stuff so will prolly be by the guy I get my audio stuff done by :(.

Well that's my Explorer story...

welcome rob and nice limited u got there

hi rob, you joined the right forum if you want to tinker with your limited. trust me, most mods you want to do are not that hard. i am a former body man, that hates anything with electrical, and i was able to do all the stuff by myself with help from members from here. don't believe me? look at my registry in my signature!

for your l.e.d.s. look for threads from MustangP51 (the l.e.d. king!)

or one other link that one member past on to me was this

http://www.cardomain.com/ride/296394

good luck with your truck, and have fun with it!

Thank you for the welcome :). I deff. do believe that with enough self education one is able to do simple things like this. I've been involved in a few different hobbies and most of them are just as you described...just takes some reading and generally are able to figure it out.

I will deff. bookmark the links, I love tinkering with stuff like this, I just dread messing something up bad.

Thanks again for the info.

well other truth be know, is that i am the same way. when i was doing all my switches, i had a extra set in case i screwed up. that extra set turned out to be a waste of $$$!

That's such a bad ass paint job you have, very nice. Looks like you have done a lot with yours, prolly was a lot of fun :p.

visual mods, yes, performance mods, no. in the winter (if you can believe it) this is my daily driver, in the summer, its sunny day car. some if it was fun, but it got its name evil "dora" for a reason lol! good luck with your truck. as i said before, i didn't know much about these trucks until i found this site, now i have learned a lot!

btw, what is that on your positive terminal. it looks like a voltage indicator?

Yes it's a digital voltage reader...allows you to hook more wires into the terminal of different sizes.

Had a problem...2002 Sprot Trac

Thanks to this forum I was able to trouble shoot and find it. Had a knock that seemed to be coming from the bottom of the "B" pilar. After removing the rear door panel and plastic from around the seatbelt mechanism, I found nothing wrong. I went under the truck and shook everything. Found the step / running board was loose. Thanks guy and gals.
