After many months of no PCM issues it went wacky today with wrench light and barely running. Codes showed:
Intake Camshaft Position Actuator Circuit (Bank 1)
Intake Camshaft Position Actuator Circuit (Bank 2)
Purge valve circuit fault
IMRC(Intake Manifold Runner Control) Circuit Bank 1 Circuit Malfunction
HO2SHTR12 Heater Circuit Malfunction
Which are all on fuse 42 in the engine compartment. I cleaned up fuse 42 and the bundle of ground wires near that fuse box. Started it and no wrench light. Put fuse cover back on and it died, weird. Started it again and running fine until I rock that fuse box and it dies. Repeat, same, then it won't do it. Grab bundle of wires going into to it and it dies 3 times in a row.
Can that whole box be disconnected enough to flip it over and get a good look at the wires and connections?

Well, this could be a problem

Oh that's just miserable. :(

Picture looks worse but it was two ground wires one completely severed and the other with half the strands. This fits my M.O. of ground codes on the PCM.
Also a purple wire with orange stripe that has some exposed strands

At least you found the problem. Was that a mouse nest?
Yes. My firewall always had a little bit of missing insulation since I bought it but I never thought it went very far.

Not the mouse wires.
Repaired the two wires, hooked everything up and same issues.. Pushed on fuse 42 and engine dies. Removed the fuse box, took the frame and bottom plastic part off and everything looks very clean. found out how to get the terminal out and it looked fine. Plugged in the fuse and could tell it was loose on the grey wire. Crimped both terminals, pugged in fuse, hooked up battery, started car and no codes. Flicked fuse and wires around and engine kept running. Put everything back correctly and still good!
I've read this before that one not really tight fuse can wreck havoc, especially on a fuse like this that so many critical components run through.
Maybe mouse wires fixed some problem I'm not aware of!
