I´ m doing some hard bodywork in my ‘94 XLT, and I’m considering to put a roll cage. We know that Explorer’s frame is too flexible, and body is not.
I have had problems with cracked floor in some places, near the firewall so, my question is: a roll cage helps to prevent this, or increases the risk of cracks, since I’m doing the body less flexible?
I saw that some of your trucks has roll cages (Rick's '93 for example), which is the result after using it under torsion conditions? Do you have more o less body cracks?
I would appreciate anybody’s opinion/help.
PD: I´ m not talking about security (the advantages in this case are out of discussion), just about body damages that would appears if I install a roll cage.
Thanks in advance
