Roof Scoop Idea?

Well i have seen these on some other cars and I have seen this exact scoop on my friends PT. I think this scoop would look pretty good on an explorer with a hood scoop and with a billet grill too to match. Let me know your ideas.

It will look alittle small on our roofs, but I kinda like how it cuts into the glass.

I understand your question Robb.

This one actually does function on my friends PT because it allows the sunroof to open and lets air in. But as we all know alot of the hood scoops and stuff on our trucks do not funtion. Most are for looks as this will most likely be. One can however make it work if they want.

I think I might be one of the few that actually has a working hood scoop/vent.

I am just thowing this out for people that want the looks, but it might fit around our stock sunroofs to work.

it really wouldnt matter anyways......that wont fit on your explorer because the body is totally contoured a different way than that poor excuse for a minivan

it would actually look damn good if they turned it around and stuck it on the hood to make it look like a cowl hood don't you also notice that the sunroof glass is painted red and totally useless now?

its not a bad idea, we're not bashing the idea.......its just that scoop is just plain ugly.......when i read the thread title i thought of something more along the lines of a WRX (or the eclipse that "Brian" drives in Fast and Furious) where its not really big and molded to the roof

personally, if a scoop like that isnt open and flowing to somethin that needs the air, thats like 2 strikes against it in my book. Yes, I dislike the hood scoop on new GTs too. I just think a scoop like that looks totally and completely out of place on anything other than a race car.

It just wouldnt look anything close to right on an explorer.

If something fits well into the design scheme of something, thats fine. Like the saleen cars, I think most of their scoops look nice with the fins in them and such. I dont like things that just stick out and scream "look at me". Additions should compliment whats already there.

agreed. if you had a ricer like a civic or eclipse, more power to ya. but and explorer is more like a muscle than a ricer, it deserves better. and, yes i know i have altezzas and the like, but altezzas look good on just about anything.
