Well Ive been having very rough idle problems lately and finally a CEL popped up. I took it to a tune up place who hooked up a scanner and got a P0302 code (cylinder #2 misfire) they claimed new plugs and wires would fix the problem. The work was completed and im leaving and the CEL comes back on. I get to the place and open the hood and a vaccum hose is disconnected and sitting on the engine. They hook up the scanner and read some code about lean fuel in the exhaust sensors or something or other The codes being probably P0171 and P0174)I LEFT IF For a free estimate on the "new" problem. (After i just paid $130)

Any suggestions on a possible cause of either the "new" or origional problem would be greatly appreciated. What kind of shop leaves hoses disconnected anyways. :fire:

Any suggestions woul dbe great cause i dont wanna get railroaded here.

thanks

Did they clear the codes after reconnecting the vacuum line???? Popped line could have caused your code.

You might want to run a can of Sea Foam through the intake.

Good luck .........

Did some more investigating while my truck is still at the shop.

Heres what ive gathered as all (all i could find anyways) pf the possible causes:

1) Leaking O rings for the intake manifold
2) Loose intake manifold bolts (ford recall 00m12 & 01mo1)
3) leaky vaccum hose (although i dont know where)
4) Dirty MAF (just cleaned by the shop)
5) Leaky Upper Plenum Seals
6) EGR hoses ?
7) Bad Fuel Filter
8) Bad 02 sensors
9) Exhaust leak
10) Bad Computer Ground

Now i basically have no clue what a plenum, intake manifold, or EGR even is so all i know is that these could be possible causes.

If there are any other possible causes i have missed or you care to fill me in on which one you think is it, (or what the parts do =) ) it would be greatly appreciated.
