I have a 91 explorer xlt, and i have replace Many things in hope of solving my motor problems.

It started with my truck wouldnt accelerate unless you used 1/4 throttle to get up to speed. I replaced the coil first hoping that would solve the problem, but no. Then i tried a MAFS new for 105.00. Still not the problem. Then i replaced the fuel filter, which it definetly needed. Still was there. Then i thought maybe, it was the TPS sensor. I tested it, and it was fine. Well after i uplugged it with the key on, the problem went away for a short time. Now, when you use the cruise control, it skips like it stalled, then i fires up again, all at 70 mph. Ive again unplugged TPS sensor, and it solved it for a little while.

Is there something im overlooking. Ive connected it to a Snapon computer and it gave a code about rough idle.

Im driving it and trying to ignore the problems, but it isnt getting any better.

Have you checked the IAC? Tried cleaning it? Also check for vacuum leaks.

Welcome to this forum! What code did you get? Did you adjust your kickdown cable? Maybe the transmission isn't shifting the way it should. Did you check your fuel pressure? You might have low pressure. Did you troubleshoot the ECT sensor? Here is a diagnostic chart:

That is the thing located on the intake manifold, right behind the TPS sensor???

Do you know of any pics that would show it better?

Try using some Amsoil powerfoam. It maybe a little bit pricy, but it really cleans out the engine and makes it idle better.
