Here's a pic of my Draw Tite round bar hitch set up for winter conditions. Already pulled one Mercedes out of a ditch.
If you find it hard to see, that's because it IS hard to see! Like it's supposed to be!
Well, upon further inspection my hitch's corner supports are well scraped from my trip to T-Haven Anyone have a simple answer on how to touch up some of the missing black flecks of paint? Although it is pretty dry here they are showing a bit of rust coloring... The finish is glossy black... if I just buy some black touch up paint is there anything else I should do beside sand off some of the rust particles? Thanks.
Originally posted by RocketMan444 It's funny that you say the statement about "Compact Stoppers". I had a guy rear end my 95 X with a Ford Escort at about 25 mph. The only damage I had was he broke the Trailer Hitch cover and scratched the hitch's paint. The Escort was contoured to the shape of the hitch. And the funny thing was when the cops came he told the cops that I backed up into him.
My buddy was pulling me out of a hole here and he went down into another hole. I didn't know that he stopped, and my hitch hit right above his back hatch handle. Crushed his hole door in. He has a 94 x on 35's.
The hidden hitch round one is the one that I have. I also had one on my 79 K5 Blazer that I used to have. I think it's the best looking of the round ones.
i would have gotten a round one, but i just could not pass up the deal i got on my new ford oem square setup (i paid lesss than 100 bucks WITH extension bar, interchangable ball and wire harness, and i was able to install it myself in less than an hour)
There's a place down here called Portsmouth Trailer Supply that sells them for less than $100. That's for a class 3. And not to mention that the place is run by all women.
I have one of class 4..5..i think round tube hitch...
we pull our boat which weighs about 4500 lbs with no problems..holds it fine...now power for pulling that boat..well thats another problem...
