"rubbing" noise when turning the steering wheel

i replaced the multifunction switch in the steering column last night, and after i put everything back together, i noticed that when i turn the steering wheel, it sounds like something is rubbing. its never done this before. anyone else have this problem? any thoughts or suggestions? ill take the steering column apart again if i have to, but it was such a PITA, that i really dont want to.

its been suggested to me by another member that my problem could be the steering wheel rubbing on the front lip of the bottom half of the steering column cover. im gonna look into this the first chance i get that its not 20 degrees outside.

im still open to other suggestions and ideas.
