Hi,
I have a 2006 Explorer, when I turn, going about 10-15 miles an hour, and to the left, a rubbing noise and can feel it. Also, when backing up, sometimes I hear the noise.
I read from earlier post on a 2002, it was the rear hub bearing assembly, possibly?
Anyone know for sure what this is? Does it have anything to do with the ABS or 4 wheel drive?

can anyone tell me what is going on? It is getting worse, and actually happens now, when I am slowing down and turning. usually always at low speeds, but driving through a parking lot, it was getting really bad. Plus, it almost always bucks some, when I start off.

2 or 4 wheel drive?
Noise in the front or back?
Have you looked at the rubber boots on your CV's?

it is 4 wheel drive... it seems to be coming from the rear, but now happening when I turn in either direction, or slowing down.. I believe it all started when I turned on the 4 wheel drive, and then I took a slow turn and it started grinding.
But, no I have not checked anything, except took it to Carmax, where I bought it a month ago, and of course it did not make the noise for them

thanks.. I just drove it on four wheel drive, and when I was slowing down and turing, it made a pretty big adjustment and jerk. also it would not go into low 4 wheel drive

are you driving on dry pavement in 4wd? you will get bucking and noises due to driveline binding. also for 4wd Low, are you stopped with the car in neutral?
