Is it possible to run 31's on stock suspension and gears? I know mahieber did it and I was wondering if anyone else has done it and how it worked for them.
Thanks
Tim
Yep, 31x10.5 Dunlop Mud Rovers on stock rims at stock height...
Look at the axle code inside the driver's door... Then use the search button, look for axle codes..Always try a search before posting a question.. All the answers are already there, just need to dig a little bit...
Not ALL the answers are here, but MOST of them are...
It is always a good idea to try a couple of searches. I have had 31x10.50s Michelins since I had 40k miles...no problems. I even put my 31x10.50 ProComps on 15x8 RockCrawlers from my J**p which looked really cool, but the lug bolts on the J**p weren't long enough to put my stock X wheels on it, so I had to swap them back.
Lot's of people run 31's, but if you don't have at least the 3.73 gears you will be sorry. I won't put any bigger tires on after I get my lifts installed until these wear out and I can afford some new gears (which you have to do front and rear in a 4wd).
bfg at's 31/10.5-15 on deerfoot print rims since new - no lift - rubbed slightly when new at full lock turn - nothing since, as for the rearend, that i would definitely find out before dropping $5-700 on new rubber, if your not running the performance axle you may wind up with an expensive set of tires that look great but kiil what little performance you had.
