Running a bit sluggish....any sugestions

My 2004 4.0 Ranger seems to be running a bit sluggish. Any suggestions to as to what I can do to regain some power?

plugs, wires, airfilter...the basics...
 






failed/loose vacuum or breather hose in there somewhere?
I've had that happen- lose a little engine vacuum and the thing acts like a pig.
