once i turn off car the lights work,if i lock it and open it the lights work.
am i crazy??did they work before??do they normally activate when the car is running and doors are open?i could have sworn mine used too.

ok so ive searched and searched on here can find nothing to help solve this.
i cant understand how my running board lights will operate normally with ignition off,but once key is turned to on position they shut off.puddle lights work, both in the on and off position, and as soon as door is opened with car running.
id imagine it cant be a wiring issue as they work totally fine once car is off/locked.maybe a relay issue???ive tried spinning the dimmer switch both ways all the way up and down as i know the courtesy circut is all passed through this(incase it was jammed or something)ive pulled and checked fuses.
any body with any insight please???i know its only a minor issue but its driving me crazy!

I'm having the same issue, I'm fairly confident with electrical work and can not figure it out for the life of me 😂

Is it possible that they're not supposed to stay on because they might not be legal on public roads in all 50 states?

There are two different sets of 2nd gen wiring diagrams on the same link in my sig., don't know if they're in them or not.

Negative, they worked until about a week ago. The problem is: Lights used to turn on when doors open, turn off when closed whether ignition is on or off. Now out of no where they won't turn on when is ignition is on. I liked it for when I was up in the mountains at night and needed to hop out for a second to check everything.
