running board removal question...HELP!

i took off my running boards and theres lil holes in the bottom of the fram...where snaps used to go... i need to know what the piece that goes over them is...? anyone have a clue? its like a strip that goes there...explorerers that come w/o the sidesteps have them... anyone know the name? i need tog et them for my ex. thanks

Its called a side valance. When people get ground effects for cars and trucks they go into the side to make it appear lower. I removed my side steps because they were cheap aluminum ones. I think it looks better with out anything and it looks higher then with them on. Just plug the holes with some JB Weld compound and paint over them.

Bro, I can help. BKennedy gave me the idea. I looked and did searches and there are few methods people have used the best one I found is using the grip tape you put on the bottom of the bath tub. It is strong, durable, water tight and blends in nice. My truck is white so it was easy not sure what color your truck is? It was also only around $5 to do, can't even tell its' there. Hope this helps.
 






What steps did you have ? The factory bars ? If so , are they damaged and do you wanna sell them ?
 






they arent bars...they are little steps
