Running line out cable from center arm rest

I am installing an XM Express head unit and need to get the line out of the head unit into the center console to connect to the line in of my sync. Can anyone help me with the best way way to remove the arm rest console so i can can either drill a hole in the base or perhaps find an existing opening.

I am going to take a shot and say he's replaced the 97 with an 08+.

I added an XM receiver to mine and ran the line through the console/shift area/cup holders and then up through into the interior of the console compartment and i dont believe I had to cut/notch/drill. there was enough room to feed the wire in there. i'll have to take a look to provide better detail, but mine is wired up just as you are describing. ran my 12v to that outlet in there as well, since the other kind of interfers with the cup holder when plugged in.
