I have a set of tow hooks that I want to put on, but I've also been looking to get a safari bar to dress up the front end, but can't figure out how they attach. I really haven't done a search on this, so I appologize but I've been away from my computer for a week and this other one I'm using is terrible.

So....how do safari bars attach? It says no drilling required. And if I put my tow hooks on will they interfere if I get a safari bar? I've made several attempts at putting on the hooks and they keep making me more and more mad trying to do all the drilling.

What do you know? I'll appreciate any and all answers.

To guide my tow hooks there were two small holes already in the frame, I just drilled them out to the size of the bolts and used that hole to determine where the front hook bolt would go. I used the hole in the frame as the rear hook bolt. If any of that made sense. You could always mount the hooks further back on the frame rail but it will be hard to put the bolts on since the frame is boxed in.

I've pretty much figured out the putting in of the tow hooks, but was more thinking along the lines of if I put in tow hooks and I get a safari bar, will they interfere with eachother. If I go back and put my hooks in, I don't want to have to take them out ever again. So much work for something that seems so simple. I also used the hole for the radiator cover as my rear point and am drilling new holes in front of them (I think we're talking about doing the same thing). I just haven't drilled the front holes out yet.

Thanks for the pictures. That definately is right where I'm mounting my hooks. I guess I'll have to put my tow hooks on hold and find a new mounting spot once I get my safari bar. Thanks again.

Yes 1000 posts! I didn't even realize that until you pointed it out! 1001 and counting....

My sis works at Target on 28th.....take a trip out there and look at her's in person. The safari bar and the factory tow hooks mounted to the same place on hers.

i just put my safari bar on last night, its very simple. It mounts right in existing holes. If you look right under the center of the truck, there is a plactic box that is a cover for the radiator or ac condenser or whatever it is. It has a plastic bolt, that you break off, to put in the metal bolt that comes with the bar. Then you use the factory bolt with the mounting brackets sandwiched inbetween the plactic box and the frame. then there are few other bolts that go on the sides and stuff.

If they mount to the rear holes, then I should definately be able to get them to work. For the radiator cover, I yanked it all off and drilled out the front-most holes to 1/2" for the bolt, and was going to drill the other holes right in front of those right behind (or an inch or 2) the slotted hole in the frame. I've been evaluating things, and it looks like the safari bar may only be in my distant future if at all. Thanks for all the answers though, they were all very helpful.
