I have located a Dana 44 from a 76 F150 i need to know is it a HP 44 or a LP 44. Did a qucik search didn't find anything. The guy says he has some one coming to look at it in a few hours its dirt cheap. So If its a HP 44 i will go and grab it up. I am thinking its a LP 44 .

so its a HP i thought only the 78-79's were HP

So if it is a HP it will have disc brakes?

I believe that the 76+ F150s had discs. As Robb said, it's HP. Since it's from a F150/100, it was high pinion. The Bronco was the d44 straight axle that was only HP in 78-79. F150/100's were different. :)

its mine i just picked it up. oh boy i'm excited :bounce:

good score, HP D44 with 1/2" thick axle tubes... if you leave it full width you can just cut the welds holding the c-bushing tab's on and move them in.
