Hi, I am new to this so bare with me.
I was given a 95 Limited Edition Explorer that was headed for the junk yard. I was told the transmission was shot. All it needed was some TLC. It was totally bone dry on transmission fluid and I suspect has a slow leak. Once i filled her up it started going into all gears and shifting smoothly. The rear breaks were out so I replaced the leaking break line. One headlight wouldnt work no matter what i tried until i read in a thread that it could be a problem with the center instrument panel. After soldering a break in the circuit board the headlight started working. next the driver side windows controller did not work so I replaced it and all windows and buttons working fine. according to the old owner the trunk hadnt been opened in years. it had rubber hammer marks on the outside from him trying to turn the hatch and the inside panel looked like it had been pryed off but no serious damage. I replaced the hatch handle and worked good as new. I also replaced the trunk window because some punk ass kids shot it out with a bb gun! Just what i needed! I also replaced the rear driver side vent glass because it was a mirror tint that did not match the rest of the privacy glass. I put in a new alternator and belt and also just had the exhaust system redone. I had to replace both rear inside door handles because they were broken and ppl in the back seat could not get out, haha! I also replaced the driver outside door handle because it was limp and would jingle. I also replaced a thermostat so the heat was hot and the AC was cold. The engine is running great except for a couple of issues.
This is where i need help!! 1 out of every 6 or 7 starts the engine sputters and tries to stall. When i give it gas it is fine and I can feel when it starts firing on all cylinders. I tried cleaning the Idle Air Control Valve and using fuel injections cleaner. Usually when it starts like that it also bucks when going up hills or when i have to be heavy on gas like when getting onto a highway.
also I have the Auto air ride control and this car bounces all over the place and the rear sags. I would like to get a leaf leveling kit for the rear and new shocks however dont know much about this...? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
In addition lol the driver speaker does not work nor does the factory amp and sub in the trunk. I would like to get a decent sounding system but am tight on cash...any suggestions??
