you could buy some of those fake hood scopes lund i think, and put them on the hood where u want them, trace around them, and cut the hood (of course the cut out should be smaller than the scoops, so go in about an inch and cut.) the front of those are plastic so you could cut the front off or make some holes and have air go straight through scoops into the engine compartment. they come with 3m tape so u could use that or bondo the scoops to the hood. (that will be a whole lot more time consuming)

I say just get a scoop and make it functional with ram air.

BeauJ what do you mean make it functional with ram air?

about mitches idea, i was thinking that i could get a scoop for it and i would rivet it to the hood then bondo the rivets and any indentations to smoothin it out! i think the scoops to buy are about a couple hundred!

Not just stick a scoop on with 3m tape and put a hole in the hood to let cooler air in to help keep the engine cooler. And if you really want to, make the hole in the hood and the intake track right below it so the cool air goes straight to the filter.

hey if i decide to do the whole scoop idea witch way will the scoop sit? i mean i think it will go up the windsheld right? or could i have it go the other way? idk?

have the opening of the scoop face the front of the truck

They look killer Monmix, but as was discussed in a privious thread.
What about water intrusion, have you found a way to get around it?

I have had zero problems with the water, just dust. However just today an idea did pop into my head at work.

We have these water separators that conncet to our air lines. They work real well.
They let the air flow under tremendous pressure, but keeping water out of the air lines.
I wanna see if I can get my hands on a cheap one and take it apart and see how they work.

It is a start,,,,,,

Keep us posted monmix, has to be a way. my 69 chevelle had a vacuum operated scoop flap, yes it was a 454 lS6 (wish i would have kept it) as it is now worth 10 times what I sold it for.
At any rate, am working on a way also to have a functional scoop

^^^ Unlike the FBI and the secret service, we will share information. :D
