hi all. awhile back i scratched the body molding behind the driver side rear wheel. it's pretty deep, gouged(sp?) in fact. i've taken it to two different places and got the cheapest quote for $500, just repairing not replacing. my question is, is there a cheaper eaiser way to fix it myself? what could i use to fill-in the gouge? i'd have to order some of the grey paint that the xlt sport explorers have on the lower body molding, where could i order it from? thanks in advance.

If you have the textured un painted calddings there is nothing you can do that will look right.

If you have painted claddings sand is with some 180 fill it with some flexable body filler sand it down with 240 prime and paint.

scratch the one othe other side, then they will match.

there, all better....

yes i do have the painted claddings (it's a xlt sport, not a xls). so i assume that i could get some flexable body filler at a local parts store? where could i order the paint?
