My car got slightly keyed the other day. There are two small key marks, each about 4 inches long. They aren't too deep, but they are very noticable. My question is, does anybody know of a good scratch remover that I could try? Thanks.

What color of paint do you have? There is a key mark on the passenger door of our light green, and its noticeable. I tried several scratch removers and Turtle Wax. The wax helped more than the scratch removers. There was also a horrible swirl mark on the hood, applied the wax, let it dry, and hand buffed it out, not as noticeable anymore.

GTExplorerMan, those scratch removers are such garbage, they do not work PERIOD!! I mean 95ExplorerLtd told it how it is, "The wax helped more than the scratch removers".

So yah, Turtle Wax or Zaino are some totally kickass ways to "attempt" to get rid of scratches or in 95ExplorerLtd's situation, get rid of "swirl marks".

P.S. Those commercials on late night TV, advertising that GT-88 (or whatever it's called) crap piss me off so much I just have to blurt out and laugh! You know when the guy is "supposedly" keying his car, it's really chalk, yep, plain white chalk!! LOL

"Inventors of GT-88" :shoot:

I had a key mark that only seemed to get to the clear coat. The paint itself was fine. I used Turtle Wax scratch and swirl remover until I started that whole Zaino thing. However, lately I've let my Zaino sit as I've vowed not to wax the car until I get all the mods done... It's amazing how quickly things get done when the car is filthy. :)

3M Imperial Hand Glaze is probably the best scratch remover out there. It's a professional body shop product, not infomercial crap. You can get it at body shop supply places.

peace

Those infomercial scratch removers are a waste of hard earned cash. My friend and I purchased two orders of GS-"something" scratch remover. It didn't work. What a waste of money.
