Well, I got keyed about 8 months ago and I'm tired of it being visible, and I have no money to get 3 body panels repainted. So, here is my plan:

1. Mask an area off and sand it smooth, getting most of the clear off in the masked off area.
2. Fill any spots with spot putty.
3. Prime, Paint, clearcoat.

Will I have semi-good results with this?

Well , that is all a body shop is gonna do.
If you have acess to a DA sander , you are way ahead of the game. Grab some 180 grit make the scratch go away then feather dege it out. Meaning , when you sand the pannel you see atleast three layrers of paint.
Possibly more. Either way to feather edge , you want each layer of paint ending no less than one inch away from the previous layer. It should look some what like a rainbow.
Good news is your truck is black. Pretty easy match.
Lemmie know if I can help any more.
