I am planing on doing a sea foam cleaning of the engine. I am going to use it in the crank case but i also plan on putting it in the gas tank to clean that system out. With previous uses in other vehicles i had to dilute it so it did not eat away at lines. With my ex do i need to do anything before putting it in the gas tank?

Thanks, Jon

I would just suck it in through the power brake booster hose like i did.. it works great and its a lot faster.

thanks for the heads up.

no problem. if you search for sea foam you'll find lots of info but its pretty easy. just disconnect the line going form the engine manifold to the power brake buster (big black drum behind the master cylinder) while the engine is running. youre gonna need a buddy in the cab to keep the truck at a fast idle and to give it gas to keep from dying. just slowly dump the bottle in the vacuum line until its all gone, and then turn off the engine, let sit for at least 20 mins, start it back up, enjoy the smoke show, and then enjoy your improved throttle response

I tried something a little bit different the other day with Seafoam. I poured 2 cans into a spray bottle. I removed the throttle body and sprayed the entire inside of the intake manifold. I let it sit for 20 minutes or so, then sprayed a good bit in again and cranked the engine some to work it into the cylinders and heads. Then let it sit for another 20 minutes or however long it took me to finish what I was doing and put everything back together again. Then started it up and had a mountain of smoke behind me. Manifold looked rather clean afterwards. Seemed to work pretty good too.
