I used sea foam in my Mountaineer thru the vacuum and had absolutly no smoke, then the other day I tried it in my Mom's 93' 4 banger Mustang that she only drove 4 miles to and from work and I don't think she ever went over 45 mph.

I smoked out the whole neighborhood. I used the whole can, 1/3 at a time 3 times....definatly the short trips carboned up things a bit, me with the Mountaineer, I drive alot of highway and tow with it, so it naturally gets cleaned out.

When you put the SF in the motor you are supposed to shut it off after the last time and let it soak for 10 or 15 minutes. Then you start it back up and hall balls some place else so your nieghbors dont call the FD. :D I have also heard of guys pouring it into the motor(Engine off) and letting it soak, but they ended up hydrolocking the motor. My truck smoked so bad when I left my house that I could not see the cars behind me.

Don't forget to change your plugs. Seafoam can make your gas mileage go to crap if you don't change your plugs. Motorcraft plugs all they way.

I have never changed plugs or anything else after using Sea Foam ( many times ), and my gas mileage is ok.

I have Bosch in there now. Put them in at about 120k miles. Didn't affect my gas mileage one way or the other. I've heard a lot of people say "DON'T USE BOSCH!" after I put mine in of course, but I haven't had a problem with them.

whats wrong w/ bosch? i was looking at the platinums that dont have to be gapped...any info, suggestions?
