seafoam before or after fuel filter?

got a new fuel filter and a can of seafoam today, Ive never used it before so Im wonderin if I should seafoam it before i install the new filter or if it even matters.

also, the can says to use seafoam every 2,000 - 5,000 miles. How often do most of you use it?

Sea Foam then filter

I suggest that you delay changing your fuel filter until after burning the Sea Foam added to your fuel tank. My rationale is that the Sea Foam may loosen so much crud in your tank that it could clog your filter. That's why I don't use Sea Foam in my tank. After you change your filter I suggest that you add a bottle of fuel injector cleaner. The only thing I put in my fuel tank is fuel and Techron fuel injector cleaner.
