Seat Belt Bolt is Pissing Me Off.

Well I'm swapping out the split bench seats for a pair of '01 buckets so I'll see what I come across. I'll snap some pics as I go and hopefully this will help to save anyone doing this in the future some grief. In the past I've found that the T50 bolts are super tight and do require significant grunt to get them out. I'll let ya'll know how it goes tomorrow.

Lol, good luck. Hope you have an impact gun or a ratchet with some serious cheater/breaker bar action...

The seat swap went well. No busted knuckles or other body parts. I know now the bolts that were giving you grief. I had to change the seat belt on the passenger side bucket as the seat from the '01 Sport have a different latch than the '93.
I guess that you were trying to remove the bolt while still in the car? I had the seats out and the slider bar off so I was able to position it exactly how it worked best, with the bar on a workbench firmly held from rotating against my hip while I turned the bolt using a 1/2" drive ratchet. I didn't use any PB Blaster or other fluids except a little anti sieze on the T50s that hold the slide bar to the floor of the 'sploder.
I changed the track on the drivers side so the seatbelt latch was a non issue on that side. The new seat had power and the 'sploder has no pigtail so rather than mess with the wiring the seat is still manual. The tracks mount to the seat exactly the same so no drilling welding or other changes are neccessary.
The passenger side bolts right in (no power) so except for the seat belt latch change pretty straight forward.

Not a bad looking pair of seats for about $75 US including cleaning. They both have the adjustable lumbar support so the Mrs. is happy too. Waaaay more comfortable than the old split bench:thumbsup:

Seat Belt Receiver Latch Broken, 1993 Explorer

I also have a broken seat belt receiver latch, and it's mounted to the side of the power seat. Is there a way to fix it or do I have to replace the seat belt? I have to take the seat out anyway to fix the seat recliner handle that broke off only 3 years after I purchased it new.

You have to replace that part of the seatbelt (small bolt on the side of the seat track and the T-50 into the floor). You can't take the buckle off the webbing that's inside the plastic cover because it's stitched on. Not a big deal as long as the T-50 in the floor comes out.

Having the same problem with the bolt. Would it be a huge issue if I just cut the nut off using a grinder with cut off wheel?

How would you reattach teh seatbelt then with the bolt cut off in the body of the X?

I used a breaker bar and FINALLY got it out when I did this few years ago.
