Seat Covers

Neoprene seat covers are pretty nice. I saw a new CR-V that came with OEM covers for rear seat. They are made of "wetsuit-like" material. Neoprene/Neosupreme seem to be what is out there that fits that description. I was impressed with the seats and would like to find some for the 2nd and 3rd row.

Just need a trusted merchant and a quality seatcover producer.

That is WetOkole. I have their covers in my Jeeps and a Miata and (had) in a Corvette... all fit excellently. They are extremely awesome in the Jeeps, as they were more or less waterproof and the surface dried quickly. (Wranglers with no roofs.)

OK, so I said I was sewing mine....and frankly I had no idea how hard it would be to find a video on youtube....so I find this...Although it's not automotive....it pretty much the basic steps.

Sewing sucks!

^ and is for girls! :D

Wetokole seat covers?

Has anyone installed quality covers for the front seats? I've been looking for cr neoprene ones and can't pull the trigger yet on wetokole brand as they are 259.00 for the front. Do these fit snug? I generally hate covers because they are usually very loose. But I need to find something as my leather is already showing serious wear around the "butt seam"

Any tips or advice is appreciated. Wetokole? Coverking?

Anyone want to go for a group buy? I would be willing to try and initiate for us.

How would these covers work with the heated and cooled front row seats? I did a quick search for covers that would work but didn't find much of anything.

well heat would still transfer through the neoprene. Cooled.... not so much. i have an xlt so i dont have cooled seats, just heated, but i dont use them often.

I believe the heat would be impaired also with the cooled/heated seats since they no longer use heating elements, but instead run the fan with the peltier reversed.

Not in an explorer, but.. I've put WetOkole covers in 2 Corvettes a Miata and 3 Wranglers... I've been hugely please with the fit (and general quality) in all cases!...

The cooling won't work... It requires the perforated leather because it simply blows cool air through the seat bottom... The WetOkoles are not perforated at all.
The heating should work... but the covers are pretty thick material so it will probably take a bit longer before your butt actually FEELS the heat.

In all, I HIGHLY recommend WetOkole for seat covers.

Sounds like these seat cover companies need to start making perforated seat covers to allow heated and cooled seats to work well.

I don't know about the Explorer but I had them in my Ranger back in the day and loved them. I also have them in the rear seats of my Honda Civic showcar. They fit great and are top quality. Great company.

Seat Savers

Covercraft is showing the 2013 seatsavers are available. They offer two choices for the front seats and both mention the air bag in the seat. Is the airbag actually in the seat? And if anybody checks out the site, which color do you think would match the light stone the best? Kinda hard to tell, maybe taupe?

Eeek, they look like trash bags that have been pulled over the front seats, lol.

Either the taupe or the wet sand, but it is hard to tell from the pics. I can see how one of those on the back seats would be nice for our dog to protect the leather.

Your right they kinda do, not much out yet that's breathable and looks good. Guess I'll stick with my bath towels for now;)

You might want to check out the seat covers from Coverking. You can get them in tons of different styles and colors; than compared to many other companies. Just thought to let you know of other alternatives that are out there.
