I need to replace the leather seats in my venerable old '91 XLT. I've combed these forums; I have looked at seat covers and talked to an upholsterer ($1100 for vinyl or $2150 for leather--YIKES!!!). I can find good seats at the wrecking yards for $600-$850, but they are not returnable and I need to know if they will fit. I understand anything up to '94 will bolt in, but you can't find anything that old in good shape. Has anyone had experience putting newer ('98 - '01) seats in a '91? Can it be done without too much trouble? Thanks for any help on this one. I love the old Explorer, but I can't warrant too big a cost for just the seats. Thanks!

Check General Explorations on 3/16/01 I posted a reply about a company called Classic Soft Trim found in the Ford Racing Performance Parts catalog. I left a number you must call for more info.
