can i put seats from a newer explorer into mine? does anybody know if the brackets are the same? i found a set out of a 99 and want to see if they will work. thanks

no you can not...i called up ford 2 weeks ago if a 95 could fit in a 98...and they said the seats can fit from 95-01...not the 1st generation...however...you can possibly swap seat tracks? all there is, is 4 bolts...you can drill a couple more holes in the bottom of the seat bracket so your track can fit...i swapped out mine for a power lumber seat track...the holes didnt match, but there was a hole there already for it...the power seat track is shorter than a manual...but no problems for me...

so grab the newer generation seat...take off the seat track, which is the bottom...take your seat track off your seat and put it on the newer one...try that...

Sure you can, I installed 2001 power/lumbar/heated/leather/airbag ( ) seats in my 92!! Let me repeat though- DO NOT THROW AWAY THE POWER RACK!!!!!!!!!
I notice that you have a 92, you should be A-OK with the bolt alignment. The only difficulty you will encounter is in the connectors, they are different so you will merely have to convert both into standardized plugs capable of holding the juice. The seats will install very easily!
92-01 (possibly 03 now) all have the same bolt-up seat patterns.
Please PM me if you have any specific questions about wiring and so forth!
Greg
