Well, it's sad to say, but I think the bronco will go up for sale this fall, but I must wheel Moab before it's gone. I have vacation Sept 3-10. I may lengthen this too. I'm thinking maybe wheel Moab at the end of the week possibly fri/sat and then head to ABQ, NM for some more wheeling and possibly visiting with Kampy, and old wheeler from here (old, like the wooden ship Diversity)

Anyone interested? The weekend before this is the Ouray Co trip which may allow some to travel from further away and make a week trip out of this.

It'd be good to see some make it, as this possibly could be my last 4x4 for a while and even longer for me making it out west again.

Begin.

Pete, why you selling it??? I'd be down to wheel with Kampy, and I also want to get back to Moab ASAP. I think Todd is only about 4-5 hours from Moab. We might even come up with the old Kampy Ranger too.

Kampy doesnt wheel anymore (j/k :p:) I have only been wheeling with him once since he has been here and that was a long time ago. I would be up for some wheeling around ABQ and I could show you around a few wheeling spots if Todd has something else going on. ABQ is about 6 hrs from Moab but it is a pretty easy drive.

Danny, since owning it (3ys in thanksgiving) I've wheeled it twice. I've also got no desire to work on it anymore. At that, I might be looking to move in a year to Fla, and don't know that I'll easily be able to keep it around. So, I think i'll pull a western tour and call it good.

I'd enjoy wheeling a small group so this could turn out well. Brian I'd definately like that. What's 6hrs in the scheme of things when I'm driving 19hrs to moab? i sent him an email and only hear from him occasionally but haven't heard from him yet. Last I heard he was wheeling a well built TJ

Roger that, I know it's been a long term build for you so I thought you were just going really thorough on the project.

It's really not fun to work on your truck more than wheelin it, I got a bit discouraged in the 6 months that mine was down, but now I'm looking at running it as is for a couple years and the only work will be maintenence.

Bring it out here and lets wheel man. I say you hit

Holy Cross Vail CO
21 Road Grand Junction (or another good trail out there)
Moab

And of course AZ and Truckhaven would be fun, but probably not worth the drive.

As of now, I'm pretty happy that I got two more days off. So Sept 3 (weds) thru Sept 12 (fri.) Again, it's a feeler thread to see who is interested and where at. Moab is a must though.

Yea it sucks cause I've put alot of time in. To get it right (my satisfaction) it'd need fuel injection, new tires, new gas tank, and some type of ram steering. I may still go with 2 new tires and a ram assist setup due to my steering issues. Heck, I've still got the doubler in the garage on the floor. Maybe Moab will renew my drive to wheel, but if I move to Fla next year, I'm definately out.

Who knows.. :o

That'll never happen! I'll drive a honda before doing that!!

Im going to throw myself in as a interested party. I will have to wait till it gets closer to see what my funds are going to do.

I would be willing to wheel around ABQ when your here. I'll also be in ouray.

Ya sure, if your driving the JEEP! haha.

I'm interested in going to Moab, I was actually gonna see if anyone wanted to go in Oct. but this would work just as well. Not 100% sure i'll be able to go but i'll see where my funds are at around Aug. I hated to miss the last trip out there but couldn't pass up the work while I had it.

Good news and bad news.

We'll start with the bad. I've found trucks which are better wheelers than mine listed for less than what i wanted to list mine at, and are getting no bites. SO, I'm not selling. Truck, trailer and tow rig are all paid for and it's not worth losing out on it. So, I've sucked it up and already started working on projects on it.

Good news. If there is enough interest, I still plan on heading out west as of now. Of course, Moab is still #1 to me. If I get no response to enough people wanting to wheel Moab, I might not come out. That's what I want to wheel if I'm gonna drive 19hrs. So, interest thread continue!

Oh, and my stimulus check is now going to some tires or power assist steering from west texas offroad, no more AR-15 for me..

Unfortunately not. I switched departments in March and was kinda stuck with the left overs of the vacation openings. Originally, all that was left was the 1st September week, but someone canceled and I got the added 2 days. So, I'm gonna be doing the run these days and can't change. Should I stay, I'll be more flexible in '09.

Ok thats cool. I can 100% give a answer in Aug also.

I feel that i can make this happen

I wish I could man... October would be alot cooler... Guess we'll have to rough it. Due to my boredom, I'm going to go over all the old Moab threads... Check out photos, lodging, etc...

Got an email from Kampy who said he'd be down for wheelin and that it's a good time of the year to go. This however, still doesn't help me on the Moab part. It's still up in the air on this run...

I hate to say it but I can't make this trip (Moab). Work has been pretty scarce for me lately so i'll have to settle for local trips for the time being. Have fun whoever makes out for this run:thumbsup:
